Best known for a local old-fashioned mall, Nakano Broadway. As a residential town, the town is densely populated. Despite the town being in the central of Tokyo, Nakano gives a down-to-earth feeling. Quite exciting to see shops that are locally owned, priced exceptionally reasonable. Considering the fact that this was a town that was quite popular 45 years ago, it’s now considered as a “retrospective” with 13 level commercial complex still standing today.

Consider yourself lucky, if you are a foodie wandering around Nakano. You will pretty much find anything you desire. From Ramen joints, to curry, little cafes, or hole-in-a-wall Izakaya’s. The price ranges from 350 – 950 JPY average.

It’s not the cheapest to find an apartment around here, but quite affordable considering the location. Your best bet is to hop off the train and see how you feel. If this town gives you a spark, then you will no doubt will comfortably fit right in. A studio will range average from 78,000 JPY and around 250,000 JPY for a two bedroom.
