Renting an apartment in Tokyo is akin to living in a jungle of tech and culture. However, for some, it can feel like a concrete jungle. Tokyo is so rapid with development that the urban landscape has changed dramatically over the past 20 years. As redevelopment spreads, wide open spaces become tighter and new buildings grow higher and higher.
So, how can you get a sense of openness and freedom in a Tokyo apartment if there are so many buildings around? The answer might be to live on a higher floor!
It's possible to have an unobstructed view from one's windows; even on the 3rd floor of a low-rise apartment. However, the more populated the area, the less likelihood of having a view on a lower floor. We've found the chances of having an unobstructed view become significantly higher somewhere around the 10th floor.
Below are all our apartment listings on the 10th floor of a building or higher. We can't promise that they'll all have an immense view of the city, but at the very least, you'll get a sense of openness by being able to see the sky! If you're lucky, you'll be able to overlook Tokyo's cityscape on a sunny day, feel the breeze on your balcony, and sip your coffee in slow-motion.
